Dear Rt. Reverend, Very Reverend, Rev Fathers, Parish Committees, YMS of R Branches, Bowlers and Friends:
Holy Mother of the Rosary Cathedral Parish in Lancaster, New York will be hosting the 70th Annual PNCC/YMSR Bowling Tournament on May 29-31, 2015. We are exciting about this event returning to the Buffalo-Pittsburgh Diocese, and as pastor of the Cathedral Parish, I invite your participation in the tournament as a bowler or guest. The tournament will be held on the weekend that includes “Trinity Sunday” for our Sunday worship. Interestingly enough, bowling pins are arranged in a triangular pattern on the deck of the lanes. The triangle is one of the symbols used when trying to visually understand God’s mystery of the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit I would like to think that our event also has three parts to it: Faith — Fellowship – Friendship.
The faith of those attending is manifested in their dedication to our PNCC. Many participants are active in so many aspects of parish, diocesan & national church life. Fellowship, either on our off the lanes is the bond we feel as we draw participants and guests from all around the PNCC. We “catch up” on church happenings in our parishes and share joys and concerns of our immediate family events. Lastly, friendships are renewed every time we gather together at a tournament and new ones can be made every year. Perhaps then, our theme could be “Trinity in Our Unity.”
We are looking forward to your participation in the 70th Annual Tournament. Our Cathedral Parish Family is anxious to be your gracious hosts in 2015! On behalf of our committee members, we look forward to seeing you in May!
In Humble Service,
Rt. Rev. John E. Mack – Pastor
Holy Mother of the Rosary Cathedral
